Just sharing my experience with you how I rank number one on Google with blogger subdomain and even my blog is just 1 month old. Here is a screenshot of my post. In the first image, my post is ranking on #2 and in the 2nd image, it is ranking on #1.
It was November 2019 and I was thinking to start a blog. I was already failed many times in blogging. This time I searched about event blogging and after some research, I thought that I should do an experiment on the New Year event. I started a blog on blogger which domain you can notice in the above screenshot.
I always suggest new bloggers start with blogger because you can start without money. So, I started posting on this blog and I wrote about 7 posts on this blog after keyword research. I selected some keywords like "Happy New Year 2020 Images HD", "Happy New Year 2020 HD Wallpaper" "Happy New Year 2020 Speech" and "Happy New Year 2020 Wishes". Now let's get started step by step.
- Niche Selection
If you are a new blogger then just start with event blogging because you can get some traffic and this will motivate you. You can also rank some posts on Google #1 page if you are working on the event blog. For example, I selected Happy New Year 2020 for my blog.
- Keyword Research
I used Google Keyword Planner for the keyword research which is a free tool. There are also paid tools in the market but the free tool works well for new bloggers. After searching your keyword in Google Keyword Planner then search this keyword in Google. If the first page of Google doesn't have exact keywords in the title then this keyword is for you. You may also see some social results in Google on this keyword and this is also due to low competition. For example, if you search "New Year 2020 Speech" then after two posts you will see the following posts.
If you notice this keyword is not in many posts title. Two posts have this keyword and one post is from Pinterest. So, you can compete on this keyword. All the following steps I apply in my posts.
- Optimize Your Content
Now it is time to optimize your content. So, first of all, your keyword density should not be more than 2%.
Disclaimer! There is not any rule for Keyword Density but avoid spamming.
Keyword density according to shoutmeloud.
You have to add your keywords in the following places.
- H1 Tag
- H2 Tag
- First Paragraph
- Permalink (you make custom permalink like yourdomain.com/your-keyword)
- Tags (Available in Blogger and Wordpress)
- Description (Available in blogger and you can also enable custom description in Wordpress)
- In Images alt and name tag
- In the last paragraph
You have to also optimize your images. You have to add alt and name tags. For example, you can find alt and name tags in the following image.
You can do this step in the HTML part of your post. Also, remember your raw image name also should be your keyword. You can simply rename your images with your keyword.
If you think you can add some frequently asked questions then you must add at the end. It will help your post to appear in voice searches because most voice searches are questions. For example, "Why my Adsense account is not approved?"
Now also add some lists like ordered list and unordered list. Have a look at the following image.
Embed at least one relevant Youtube video at the end of your post. It makes a difference between you and your competitor.

If you are active on your blog and adding quality content on a daily or weekly basis then it increases chances of your post ranking. If you have more content then obviously more chances to appear in search results.
- Add Blog on Google Search Console
Add your blog on Google Search Console after writing about 5 posts. (#MyOpinion)
- Social Sharing
Social sharing is very important if you need initial traffic. Pinterest is one of my favorite social media platforms. With Pinterest, you can drive a lot of traffic. Have a look at my Pinterest account.
I created this account on 30 November 20 days before. So, I also focus on Pinterest marketing.
You can also share your content on other social sites like facebook, twitter, tumbler, LinkedIn, and quora. I used these all sites to get initial traffic on my site.
- Acquiring Backlinks
After one or two months you can check your search rankings. Also, check your competitor backlinks by adding his article URL in Ahrefs Backlink Checker. This tool will show you the top 100 backlinks. (If your keyword is low competition then you don't need to worry about that.)
